The Riello SENTINEL PRO is an on-line double-conversion UPS, offering the highest levels of reliability and protection for critical servers, voice and data processing IT systems. The UPS is highly efficient. Riello SENTINEL PRO is designed to save energy and has a power-off push-button feature to reduce energy consumption to zero, when no load is connected or switched off. For long runtime applications, Sentinel Pro (ER models) can be fitted with matching battery extension packs which also include additional battery boost chargers.

The Sentinel Pro delivers proven performance to protecting a wide range of critical servers and IT networks. This tower-style plug and play single-phase UPS is easy to install and use, but incorporates a whole host of sophisticated features.

With a fully microprocessor-controlled inverter, it uses double conversion technology to produce a consistent and reliable output voltage. With a power range of 700-3000 VA, optional more powerful battery chargers are available for the most critical environments requiring extended runtime lasting several hours. In-built battery efficiency testing also ensures optimal performance.

Users can choose from several operating modes to either boost performance or reduce energy consumption:

  • Online Mode: maximum load protection and output voltage quality
  • Eco Mode: maximum efficiency up to 98% as the load is powered by the mains only
  • Smart Active Mode: UPS automatically decides what mode to run depending on the stability of the incoming supply
  • Standby Off Mode: for loads such as emergency lighting, which don’t need power until the mains supply fails
  • Frequency Converter Mode: enables the output frequency to be different to the UPS input frequency

The Sentinel Pro is capable of handling a wide range of input voltages (140 V to 276 V), has a power factor of 0.9, and a high overload capacity of 150%. It incorporates both a Cold Start function, which means the UPS can power up without mains electricity, and an automatic shutdown feature (Eco line) that reduces energy consumption during sustained periods of inactivity.

Thanks to load-based fan speed control, noise levels are limited to less than 40 dBA, minimising any disruption in the working environment.

While the UPS also incorporates a completely revamped LCD display panel clearly showing all vital information, including input and output voltage, remaining battery charge, and the current UPS operating status.

Fully-compatible with the PowerShield3 advanced communications software, which enables the safe shutdown of any equipment connected to the UPS.

The Riello SENTINEL DUAL (Low Power) is the high density version of the Premium Pro range of double-conversion on-line UPS. Riello SENTINEL DUAL is designed to power critical loads such as servers, storage systems, telephone equipment, medical systems and industrial applications. This Riello UPS can be used as tower UPS or within a rackmount cabinet, and takes up only 2U in height.

The Sentinel Dual (Low Power) is a single-phase uninterruptible power supply offering high performance, efficiency, and versatility.

This advanced dual conversion online UPS protects against mains failures and delivers a stable, filtered power supply to critical loads such as servers, storage systems, VoIP telephone equipment, and medical or industrial equipment. It is designed to deliver high-quality output voltage even when dealing with non-linear loads, making it an ideal solution for high-density blade servers.

Available in 1000-3000 VA versions, this plug and play power supply can be installed in virtually any environment as either a floor-standing tower or rack-mounted in 19-inch cabinets. To change the installation configuration, simply remove and rotate the LCD display panel, rotate the unit by 90o, and either attach or detach the rack supports.

Advanced inverter technologies ensure a 0.9 output power factor and operating efficiency of up to 92%, while components can operate at high temperatures of up to 40oC and load-controlled fans ensure distraction-free noise levels of less than 40 dBA.

The Riello Sentinel Dual is the best UPS solution for powering mission critical applications and electro-medical devices requiring maximum power reliability.
Flexibility of installation and use (digital display, user-replaceable battery set), as well as the many communication options available, makes the Riello Sentinel Dual suitable for many different applications from IT to security.

Available as either a floor-standing tower or rackmount UPS, the Sentinel Dual SDU offers unity power factor, simple plug and play installation, and a variety of energy-saving modes of operation.

This single-phase online UPS has a power range of 4-10 kVA, with up to three units parallelable to provide either additional capacity or redundancy.

Its capability to handle high-density, non-linear loads makes it an optimum solution for mission-critical server rooms and IT networks, plus electro-medical devices and industrial applications.

Sentinel Tower is the ideal solution for protecting mission critical systems such as safety devices, telecommunications equipment but also IT systems to ensure maximum power reliability. Sentinel Tower is designed and built using state-of-the-art technology and components to provide maximum protection to the powered loads with no impact on downstream systems and optimised energy savings.

The series includes 5-6 kVA single/singlephase and 8-10 kVA single/three-phase input single-phase output models with on-line double conversion technology (VFI):
the load is powered continuously by the inverter which supplies a sinusoidal voltage, filtered and stabilised in terms of form and frequency. Input and output filters provide significant further immunity from mains disturbances and lightning strikes. In terms of technology and performance, Sentinel Tower is one of the best UPS available on the market today: three level inventer to achieve 95% efficiency, output power factor 1 to increase in efficiency of system and devices and reduce power system losses.

The third generation of Riello UPS transformerless ON LINE UPS systems. The 10-20 kVA Sentryum rewrites the concept of flexible power by offering a choice of three compact cabinet sizes to suit the needs of any small data centre or mission-critical application.

Enhanced overload and short circuit capacity guarantee maximum availability. Incorporating a 5-inch colour touchscreen display and intuitive LED status indicator that automatically changes colour based on the UPS’s current operating state.

The Sentryum (S3T) range is Riello UPS’s third generation of transformerless online uninterruptible power supplies.

Available in 10-15-20 kVA versions, the Sentryum improves on our popular Multi Sentry (MST) series and has been developed following extensive customer feedback.

The S3T redefines the concept of flexible power protection by offering three different cabinet sizes to meet the varied needs of small data centres and mission-critical applications:

Compact (CPT)

The Sentryum is manufactured used state-of-the-art components designed to run flawlessly at temperatures up to 40 °C. These include a dual-core DSP processor and three-level inverters that operate at high frequency (18 kHz).

This ensures the S3T delivers full-rated power (kVA = kW 1 pf) with exceptional operating efficiency of up to 96.5% in online double conversion mode.

Available as three-phase/single phase input, single-phase output or three-phase input and output, the UPS has a unique control system that reduces harmonic voltage distortion (< 1% at resistive load and < 1.5% at non-linear load).

In addition, the Sentryum has high overload (125% for 10 minutes, 150% for 1 minute) and short circuit (270% for 200ms and 150% for 300ms) capacity, which enables it to handle sudden peak loads without needing to transfer to bypass.

Install up to 8 S3Ts together in parallel to scale capacity or build in redundancy (i.e. N+1 configuration). Closed loop system ensures the UPSs continue to function even if there’s a disruption to the connecting cables.

A revamped 5-inch colour touchscreen display panel clearly highlights crucial UPS measurements and operating statuses. While an innovative new LED status indicator automatically changes its colour (light blue, dark blue, yellow, red) depending on the operating mode and condition of the UPS.

Riello UPS Multi Sentry

Riello MULTI SENTRY is a state-of-the-art uninterruptible power supply,and has been designed to protect critical information and telecommunications systems, networks, services and processes whose operation could be disrupted by poor power quality and/or breaks in their mains power supply. Achieving the highest possible level of on-line double-conversion performance (VFI-SS-111) as defined within IEC EN 62040-3.

The Multi Sentry series delivers exceptional performance and efficiency in one of the most compact footprints in its category, making it the perfect solution for restricted spaces or sites facing commercial pressures to maximise floorspace.

Available in 8 power ranges from 30-200 kVA, it’s suitable for protecting sizeable data centres or smaller communications networks and critical ICT infrastructure.

Thanks to its advanced IGBT rectifier that delivers an input power factor close to one (0.99), the Multi Sentry is well-suited for environments with limited power capacity or issues with harmonics. Compatible with both single-phase and three-phase power sources, this is one of the best UPS on the market for powering capacitive, high-density loads found in blade servers and similar settings.

Capable of operating efficiencies of up to 96.5%, delivering consistent performance with minimal power consumption, users can select from a wide range of UPS operating modes:

Riello Multi Power ensures that a scalable, secure, high quality power supply is available for a variety of critical load applications. The new MPW Power Modules feature the very latest in UPS technology. With its three level Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) inverter and Power Factor Corrected (PFC) input control, the MPW ensures the highest level of performance in terms of overall efficiency, input power factor and harmonic impact on the supply source.

An award-winning modular UPS, the compact yet power-packed Multi Power (MPW) sets new standards in reliability, efficiency, and scalability.

Available in 25 kW or 42 kW versions and installed in cabinets housing several individual power modules, up to four cabinets can be paralleled together to deliver more than 1 MW of total power. For environments where space is particularly restricted, the Multi Power Combo option incorporates power modules and battery units into a single, all-purpose cabinet.

The Multi Power is manufactured using specially-designed, custom-made components, including a three-level Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) inverter that ensures full-rated power. Advanced, transformerless technology also delivers operational efficiency of up to 96.5%, minimising wasted energy. Each power module and battery unit making up the Multi Power is hot swappable. The Master MPS series of UPS offer maximum power for mission-critical environments such as data centres, telecoms networks, security systems, electro-medical devices, and industrial applications.

Online double conversion UPS technology protects against power failures and eliminates mains disruptions like harmonics, making it a proven choice for systems powered by generators or MV/LV transformers. Easily installed in a wide range of configurations and architectures, with up to 8 units capable of operating in parallel for additional capacity or redundancy.

The Master MPS uninterruptible power supply is a proven performer in almost any mission-critical environment and can handle capacitive loads such as blade servers too. A popular choice in data centres, telecommunications and IT networks, electro-medical devices, and heavy industry, this online, dual conversion UPS is available as both a three-phase input, three-phase output or three-phase input, single-phase output model.

With a power range of 10-800 kVA, up to 8 Master MPS can be paralleled together for additional capacity or redundancy. User-friendly Hot System Expansion (HSE) enables extra UPS to join an existing system without the need to turn off the power or transfer to bypass.

Systems can be configured in a variety of ways to ensure availability and redundancy, including:

– UPS Group Synchroniser (UGS): enables 2 or more non-parallel UPS devices to remain synchronised even during mains power failure. UGS also enables a Riello UPS to synchronise with another independent power source, even one with a different power rating.

– Parallel Systems Joiner (PSJ): this connects 2 groups of UPS in parallel using a power coupling switch. If one of the UPS in the group fails, it is automatically excluded and the PSJ links the remaining UPS to the other group through an external bypass.

The Master MPS only needs a small installation footprint, for example a 200 kVA system requires just 0.64m2. The tower-style units have a removable front panel allowing for easy servicing and maintenance, while because the fans ventilate upwards, it eliminates any requirement for side or rear entry. This means units can be installed up against the wall or back-to-back to save space.

Battery reliability is enhanced by a dedicated battery care system. This incorporates comprehensive testing functionality, a temperature compensation feature, and dual level recharging to optimise recharge currents.

Compatible with Riello UPS’s extensive range of advanced communications and monitoring software such as PowerShield3, which enables the safe shutdown of all connected devices.

The Master Industrial series is designed to handle the challenging conditions such as vibrations, mechanical stresses, and dust that pose problems to a standard UPS system.

A tower-style, three-phase uninterruptible power supply available in 30-80 kVA power range, it is ideal for industrial applications such as manufacturing and petrochemical processes, power plants, and electrical distribution. Offering double conversion online UPS protection, it is capable of up to 94% efficiency.

Designed to overcome the challenges such as dust, vibration, and mechanical stresses that would cause a standard UPS to buckle, the Master Industrial range delivers reliable protection in even the harshest, most demanding setting.

A three-phase, tower-style dual conversion online UPS, it is available in 30 VA, 40 VA, 60 VA, and 80 VA versions, and can achieve operational efficiency up to 94%.

With a high short-circuit current that makes it an excellent choice for loads requiring high current peaks, it is made for heavy industrial applications, for example, manufacturing processes, electrical power distribution, or power plants.

Batteries deliver a consistent 220 Vdc voltage, the industrial norm, with sophisticated battery care system ensuring enhanced performance and resilience.

The Master HE uninterruptible power supply series combines exceptional reliability with operational efficiency of up to 95.5%, reducing operators’ power consumption and energy waste.

Available in 10 power ratings from 100-800 kVA, this three-phase online UPS uses advanced double conversion technology to protect mission-critical and industrial loads in settings such as data centres, security systems, electro-medical devices, and telecoms networks.
Delivering unity power factor, it incorporates an output isolation transformer to enhance load protection, while its high-performing components can withstand the stresses of temperatures up to 40oC.

Delivering outstanding performance at lower operating costs, the Master HE range of super-efficient UPS systems is the perfect option for protecting mission-critical and industrial loads.

With a power range of 100-800 kVA, up to 8 units can be installed in parallel to increase capacity or redundancy depending on the requirements.

Using advanced online double conversion technologies, the Master HE is designed to protect data centres, IT and telecommunications networks, electro-medical devices, security systems, and industrial loads from blackouts and other damaging power disturbances.

Its IGBT-based rectifier produces far greater operational efficiency compared against the more conventional thyristor-based systems. In online mode, operational efficiency of 95.5% stands comparison with transformerless UPS power supplies.

Providing a unity power factor, it includes an output isolation transformer which offers better load protection, enables the UPS to be supplied from two independent lines, and guarantees higher immunity to any harmonics generated by the load.

Users can manually select or programme a variety of operating modes that improve system performance or efficiency:

  • Online Mode: maximum load protection and output voltage quality
  • Eco Mode: maximum efficiency up to 99% as the load is powered by the mains only
  • Smart Active Mode: UPS automatically decides what mode to run depending on the stability of the incoming supply
  • Standby Off Mode: for loads such as emergency lighting, which don’t need power until the mains supply fails
  • Frequency Converter Mode: enables the output frequency to be different to the UPS input frequency

Delivering high power in a compact footprint, for example, a 250 kVA model can be installed in 0.85m2 space, the Master HE can be configured in a variety of ways, such as:

  • UPS Group Synchroniser (UGS): enables 2 or more non-parallel UPS devices to remain synchronised even during mains power failure. UGS also enables a Riello UPS to synchronise with another independent power source, even one with a different power rating.
  • Parallel Systems Joiner (PSJ): this connects 2 groups of UPS in parallel using a power coupling switch. If one of the UPS in the group fails, it is automatically excluded and the PSJ links the remaining UPS to the other group through an external bypass.

Quick maintenance and service access is available thanks to a removable front panel, which also incorporates an advanced LCD display panel showcasing UPS status and alarms, input and output voltage, battery levels, and other measurements that can be used to monitor performance and calculate data centre power usage effectiveness (PUE).

PowerShield³ provides efficient, userfriendly UPS management, displaying all major operational information such as input voltage, applied load and battery charge. The software also provides detailed information on fault conditions and UPS operating states. Developed with a client/server architecture, it is the ideal tool for managing multi-platform network systems.

  • PowerShield³ FULL version: supports up to maximum of 32 UPS for all operating systems.
  • With sequential and priority-based shutdown, PowerShield³ provides unattended shut-down of all networked PCs, saving any active work on the most widely used applications. Users can definethe shutdown priorities for the various computers in the network and can also customise the procedure.
  • With multi-platform compatibility, PowerShield³ uses the TCP/IP communications protocol to achieve standardised management and monitoring across the widest possible range of platforms. This makes it possible to monitor computers with different operating systems from a single console, for example monitoring a UNIX server from a PC running Windows and also connecting to UPS located in different geographical areas using dedicated networks (intranets) or the Internet.
  • With event scheduling, PowerShield³ users can program their own shutdown procedures, detailing power-off and power-up scenarios to increase system security and save energy.
  • With messages management, PowerShield3 keeps users constantly informed about the status of UPS and environmental sensors, either locally or via network messages. A list can also be defined of users who should receive e-mails, faxes, voice messages and SMS messages when faults or sudden mains power supply failures occur.
  • Integrated SNMP agent: PowerShield³ features an integrated SNMP agent for UPS management which can send all the information required and generate traps using the RFC1628 standard, and environmental sensors.
  • Secure, easy to use and connect; communication is now password protected to ensure UPS system security. PowerShield³ permits to initiate live migration of virtual machines (VM) to automatically and transparently migrate VMs during power disturbance to protected devices by UPS with migration systems
such as VMware vMotion™ and Microsoft Live Migration. PowerShield3 can monitor and manage UPS either inside or outside the data centre. Can also measure power consumption to help calculate power usage effectiveness (PUE), a the standard metric utilized for gauging data centre power efficiency.

Security, easy to use and connect, communication is password protected to ensure UPS system security. Using the new discovery/browsing function, all the RIELLO UPS connected to a protected computer or LAN can be displayed in a list format. The Netman environmental sensors monitor and record environmental conditions as well as activities in protected areas and at the premises where the UPS is installed. The environmental sensors allow extensive control and management of the environment around the UPS by monitoring the temperature, humidity, triggering devices such as fans or locks and communicating the values via web, SNMP and via the PowerShield³ software.
